Young Nigerian Scientists Invents Local Ventilators To Fight Off COVID-19

With multiple strides in fighting the novel COVID-19 virus, individuals in all levels has shown heroic exploits in their donations and efforts in putting the world pandemic at a halt in Nigeria.

Two young Nigerian scientists, Orya Joseph and Ichor Joshua has also engraved their names in the hall of fame as inventors of a local Ventilator to aid in fixing the problems around the insufficiencies of ventilators in Nigerian hospitals.

In their words, they said;

“There has been a lot of attention on making high-tech ventilators for well resourced countries but we also need to think about places where there’s no access to high-tech equipment and resources are limited. The S-Vent is a low cost simple ventilator we have designed to try and help with the current Covid-19 pandemic. It is designed to use basic components and materials so that it can be produced anywhere without the need for 3D printing or machining.
It is fully solar powered, capable of operating in off-grid villages”

This is indeed a commendable effort.
