The city of Jos in plateau state has seen a return of partial activities today Thursday 16th April 2020 after the total lockdown for 7days that saw all streets deserted in the town.
 Recall that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong earlier issued a 7day lockdown with a fumigation exercise covering the 17 local government areas in the state.

At the end of the total lockdown on Wednesday 15th April by 11:00pm in the state, Governor Lalong went on to declare an extension of the total Lockdown however the lockdown starting from Thursday 15 April 11pm will give room for essential service providers and food shops and markets for people to restock food up until Sunday 19th April when the total lockdown will commence up on till Thursday 23rd April

The city center of plateau today, was a beehive of activities as residents troop out in numbers to reclaim abandoned businesses and purchase food items for restocking in readiness for the next total lockdown which starts in four (4) days.

Lalong stated that the state was yet to record any confirmed case of Covid-19 in the State as such the state was not resting on its oars nor take anything for granted in blocking any loophole that can make it vulnerable as such boarders will remain closed with CCTV monitoring cameras at entry points.

He reemphasized the need to extend the total lockdown to 23rd April 2020 as to meet the stipulated world standard covid-19 14days lockdown.

Lalong also said there will be an immediate distribution of palliatives to the poor of the poorest in the state as the Deputy Governor will be heading the team to ensure the effective distribution of such as all civil servants were to be exempted as it was for the vulnerable of the society..
