Islam is one of the largest religions in Nigeria and the country has the largest Muslim population in West Africa.
In 2021, the CIA World Factbook estimated that 53.5% of Nigeria’s population is Muslim.
Islam is predominantly concentrated in the northern half of the country, with a significant Muslim minority in the southwestern region.
Before we go further, I would like to know the difference between a Yoruba Muslim and Hausa-Fulani Muslim?
Is there anything like that?
I was conversing with someone just some minutes ago about Negative effects of Islam in Nigeria and he said “Yoruba Muslims are better than Hausa-Fulani Muslims”.
He also said that the Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani Muslims Islamic ideologies are different.
Going further, he claimed that a typical Northern Muslim does not regard south west Muslims as real Muslims.
How true is this?
