A story of Love, Empathy and Emotions by a true Plateau son and a humanitarian – Rotdung Joseph Founder of Hcube Foundation

The tale of this will begin from the back-long history of people who are often times misunderstood due to their Health condition. Sickle cell anaemic patients are people who’s story is more than meets the eye.

The H3 foundation is a Non- Governmental and Non- Profitable Organization focused on spurring government, groups, and well spirited individuals to come up with actionable means of giving back to their communities quality service delivery; a feature which has been lacking over time in our communities. The driving force of this foundation was ignited by the late Nde Silas Rotwukka’s way of life. To keep the memory of such an icon, this foundation was orchestrated.

On Sunday the 11th of September 2020 was a day not to be forgotten so soon and in the words of Mr Rotdung Joseph Rotwukka, my passion has always been to impact my community and society. The young community mobiliser and humanitarian has over the years through the H3 foundation been committed to helping people regardless of religious or tribal affiliation. Earlier this year in pankshin community, there was a commissioning of two boreholes and just some months after, the foundation extended her humanitarian service to people living with sickle cell.

From constant crisis, it is the story of people who have lived with sickle cell… It is a condition that one cannot change but regardless they never get despair with re-assurements of living a fulfilled life. The Sickle warriors shared their story, Identifying the ridicule they have been subjected too, stating they have been body shamed, called lazy, called wicklings, tagged with academic setbacks, shuffling in and out of the hospital and living in pains daily.

In a moment that was all admist tears and empathy. The sickle Warriors participated in the Make-up training and the climax of the training came with a presentation of makeup boxes and aside the Sickle warriors in attendance, Other under privilege personalities were present and supports was given to to an Orphan, an Amputee, a Cancer patients and more importantly, the Best Entrepreneur of the year amongst participant was awarded with a cash price.

The discuss by Dr Kumbet Sunny gave a background to the sickle cell disease, how sickle cell patients can be given maximum care and how they can take care of themselves.

It was like a dream to Mr, Rotdung having the opportunity to present an award to Dr Nentawe Yilwatda who has been his mentor due to his impacts and contributions to better the lives of youths and the community services he has been engaged in for the past years. Receiving the awards were commendations and appreciation given to Mr Rotdung for his selfless service, sacrifice, love and contribution to humanity and the betterment of peoples life.

Such an emotional moment for Dr Nentawe Yilwatda as he shares his emotional story of his Life most lowest moments and how he understands the pain of people who are diagnosed with sickle cell

The parents of these warriors commended the foundation for such a selfless service in bettering lives. Also, participants expressed how overwhelmed they are with the organization selfless act of service.

For Rotdung Joseph through his organization, Hcube foundation will be committed to bettering the lives of people around him, sacrificing the little to meet the needs of his community and people around him.
