Love him, hate him, be indifferent about him… history will never go down without the mention of Caleb Balasa once the topic of music and entertainment is raised. Too many things (or perhaps a few), make Mr. Kleb a special breed of celebrity.
Mr. Kleb is a talented Producer, song writer, recording artiste….the list is endless. His talent is evident in the songs he has so far produced. ‘Omo’ by the Grammy nominated Afrobeat star Burna Boy, one of my favorite jams from last year was produced by none other than Mr. Kleb. Vector’s ‘Oja’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Money Play’ are among his list of works.
Mr Kleb is a constant reminder that no matter how small you are or people perceive you to be, if you have a big dream, you can achieve it. He is an inspiration with tenets founded on sheer hardwork and persistence, not sleeping and dreaming. But guess what, a good life is never as rosy as it appears on the eyes. Mr. Kleb is still paying the price because great power only comes with greater responsibilities.
And reminiscing on the past, this is certainly a milestone worth celebrating (if you ask me… given his track record of global recognition attained last year alone). Mr. Kleb has become an inspiration in ways we may have never acknowledged. Time may not allow us begin to count but we obviously can’t miss the many faces he’s put smiles on and how he’s made us dance, forgetting our worries. For me, that’s good reason enough to celebrate him.
