The Drama in Plateau APC Guber Primaries has continued as three (3) Aspirants staging a walkout and four (4) others making last-minute withdrawals over what some perceived as an imposition of candidates.

Nine Aspirants were in the race, however before voting commenced, some of the Aspirants sent in their letters of withdrawal from the contest.

According to the Chairman of the electoral Commission, Hon. Habu Ajiya, those who withdrew from the contest include, Sunday Garba Biggs, Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, Sen. Hezekiah Dimka and Arch. Steve Fitka.

The Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden, Dr. Patrick Dakum and David Dimka staged a protest walkout just before voting commenced over what they perceived as candidate imposition. While one aspirant, Chief GS Pwul SAN was totally absent.

The election however continued with Aspirant, Dr. Nentanwe Yilwatda clearly the favorite to emerge as winner as all indications show that he was clearly leading and had been favored days before the primary election.

Recall that prior to the Plateau APC Primary elections there had been calls from different quarters to allow for a level playing ground as all indications show that an aspirant has been clearly favored to pick the ticket as guber candidate for the 2023 elections.

The APC Primary elections started on 26th May at Langfield Hall in Jos with a total number of 1035 Delegates accredited to vote.
