The Secretary to the Government of plateau State Prof.Danladi Atu has told the press that there is no case of Corona Virus yet in Plateau as Government gives orders for all birders,entry and exit into Plateau to be shot down.
In a press parley at the Governnment House on updates of the fight against Corona Virus,Prof.Atu said the task force sub committee on health has traced 39 cases ,with preliminary screening conducted,those that showed visible signs of Covid19 virus had their samples taken for testing.
“Those that showed visible signe were eight in number,four returned negative while we await the results of the other four” he stated.
The SGS said some organisations has shown willingness to support the fight against Covid19 as he urge all citizens to be law abiding and follow the restriction orders of the Governnment.

Gentlemen of the Press, I welcome you to another briefing
session in keeping with our promise to keep you abreast of our efforts to fight
the Corona Virus pandemic.
1. Let me begin by reaffirming that so far, there is no
recorded case of the disease in Plateau State. Even though some suspected
samples have been taken for examination, non has turned out positive.
2. We have continued our enforcement of regulations earlier
issued. So far, there is substantial compliance and we are working to ensure
total adherence by all citizens. We commend those citizens who have abided by
the directives of Government.
3. However, we are concerned that transport operators are yet
to fully comply and are carrying passengers as they previously did. We are
calling them again for further engagement where they will be issued a last
4. Some religious organisations who flouted the order for
gathering more than 50 people last week have been invited by security agencies
and have equally apologised and made undertaking not to violate Government
5. There is also enhanced sensitization particularly at the
grassroots level as we have engaged stakeholders cutting across all sectors.
6. Local Governments have also keyed into the work of the
State Task Force and they are replicating what we are doing at the State level
in terms of sensitization and enforcement.
7. As you are aware, we have been carrying out preliminary
examinations at our border entry points to ensure that all passengers undergo
temperature assessments. So far, it has gone well.
8. However, based on assessment of the situation, the
Chairman of the Plateau State COVID-19 Taskforce, His Excellency Governor Simon
Lalong has directed that from 6am Thursday
2nd April 2020, all entry and exit routes to Plateau State will be closed. No
one will be allowed to come in or leave.
9. As part of the enforcement of gathering for not more than
50 people especially during religious events, any group, which disregards this
directive, will be shut down outrightly. If those gatherings of not more than
50 persons must hold, the organisers should adhere strictly to 2-metre
distancing, provision of water and sanitizers at entrances.
9. Traders selling food items
are to henceforth maintain the 5 meters distance directive.
